Menu Quality - Awesome

There are 14 different food selections on the menu. There are a couple of typical items you'd see on most HH menus. Twelve of the 14 options are priced at $5, with the Mu Shu Chicken Tacos at $7 and the Sauteed Mushrooms/Clams at $10. Good beer and cocktail options, and one each of red or white house wine.

We went with another couple and shared:

All food came hot, within about ten minutes of ordering. Beautiful Asian fusion presentation. Serving sizes were generous. Every item was outstanding. The only complaint was that one of our guests got a piece of fat in their Crispy Pork Bun. That wasn't enough to influence our rating down from awesome.

Service Quality/ Friendliness - Awesome

We were seated at a table in the bar area upon our 5PM arrival. Our server was very attentive, taking drink orders promptly. He had a penlight flashlight that he would shine on the menu when talking about specific items; something very helpful for our middle-aged eyes. He was very knowledgeable on the menu choices and was also willing to recommend certain items when asked. He made a very positive impression on us.

Noise Level/ Ambience - Awesome

Noise level registered at 65 decibels, comfortable for conversation. It was also earlier in the evening, and one of our guests noted that if there were a lot of people in the bar area it could potentially get loud. There were plenty of tables as well as bar seating for HH patrons, so the risk of having to wait for a HH table appeared pretty minimal. Peony Kitchen is in a relatively new building, and the decor is a modern clean Asian look with a bank of windows that look out over Main Street. Very pleasant atmosphere and vibe.

Value - Awesome

Price plus serving size and food quality made for an awesome value. Peony Kitchen is one of the restaurants that automatically charges a service charge, something that we don't particularly like. However the service charge was 18% which was lower than the 20% charged by most other restaurants. The service charge was a bit more palatable given the outstanding meal value.
